Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a visa to travel to Greece?
No. U.S. passport holders do not need a visa for tourist stays of up to 90 days.
How long must my passport be valid?
Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure date from Greece.
Which airport should I fly into?
Most guests should fly into Athens International Airport (ATH) or Thessaloniki Airport (SKG). We will provide recommended routes to Stomio from both.
How do I get to Stomio from the airport?
Stomio is best reached by rental car. We strongly recommend traveling with friends and sharing a car. If possible, travel with people who enjoy similar activities and travel styles. For example, if you plan to explore nearby towns, mountains, or sites, it may not be ideal to share a car with a group that plans to spend every day at the beach. Renting a car provides flexibility and makes the trip much easier and more enjoyable.
Will my phone work in Greece?
Most U.S. phones will work, but international roaming can be expensive. Consider adding an international plan or using an eSIM.
Is there a language barrier?
A little in smaller villages, but English is widely spoken, especially in hotels, restaurants, and tourist areas.
How long should I plan on coming?
We recommend coming at least 2 days before the ceremony. The drive from Athens to Stomio is about 4 hours. If you want to stay longer, you can then head back to Athens or Thessaloniki and continue your journey from there.
Can I travel to other parts of Europe on my trip?
Yes. Athens is the largest airport in Greece and offers connections to most major European cities. Thessaloniki is closer to Stomio but has more limited routes.
Can I drive in Greece?
Yes. Depending on the rental car service you choose, they may ask for an International Driver's License. Check with your rental agency if they require one.
