Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a visa to travel to Greece?
No. U.S. passport holders do not need a visa for tourist stays under 90 days.
How long must my passport be valid?
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date.
Which airport should I fly into?
Most guests should fly into Athens International Airport (ATH) or Thessaloniki Airport (SKG). We will provide recommended routes to Stomio from both.
How do I get to Stomio from the airport?
Stomio is best reached by rental car. We strongly recommend traveling with friends and sharing a car. If possible, travel with people who enjoy similar activities and travel styles. For example, if you plan to explore nearby towns, mountains, or sites, it may not be ideal to share a car with a group that plans to spend every day at the beach. Renting a car provides flexibility and makes the trip much easier and more enjoyable.
Will my phone work in Greece?
Most U.S. phones will work, but international roaming can be expensive. Consider an international plan.
Is there a language barrier?
English is widely spoken, especially in hotels, restaurants, and tourist areas.
Things we recommend bringing:
Water shoes - the beaches are very rocky
Some Euros for tips but most places take Visa or Mastercard
Sunglasses and sunscreen - It will be very hot in July
European travel adapters for laptops and phone chargers
